Endorsement: Vote NO on Amendment 4 & Amendment 5
Missouri politicians want to change the constitution so they can raise your taxes and then make it impossible for you to do anything about it.
Vote NO on Amendments 4 and 5 this August 4.
Amendment 4 is a permanent constitutional amendment that would make it nearly impossible for Missourians to pass ballot measures. Instead of a ballot measure getting a majority of the votes statewide to win, under Amendment 4, a measure would need to win a majority of votes in all 8 of Missouri’s congressional districts to pass.
Under Amendment 4, just ONE congressional district – as little as 5% of voters – could vote down what the rest of the state approves.
We cannot give up our power to politicians and the special interests who control them.
No on Amendment 4.
Amendment 5 would raise taxes on the things our families cannot go without: gas, groceries, medicine, home repairs, doctors visits and the bills that we’re already struggling to pay. For most families, that’s more than $500 a year extra.
Politicians put Amendment 5 on the ballot to give their rich friends and campaign donors a massive tax cut. Amendment 5 would increase sales taxes so politicians can eliminate the income tax for their wealthy friends. The wealthy stop paying income tax all together. Everything gets more expensive for the rest of us.
No on Amendment 5.
